Ferrets!

Finished up the lil critters. Getting it set up for print. More to follow as Christmas passes. Was a struggle to get the fur to a point I was happy with. Oddly, and I am sure the answer is quite simple, I could not get Olene to be a white color, she ended up the fleshy tone you see here. More exploration is needed.

Ferret Dancers

I have been working on something of a Christmas present. A nice toony version of her two ferrets, Dyna and Olene, dancing away. I tried to keep a good shot list of my workflow to make a mini tutorial out of. I still have the fur on the second to push through and then to figure out the best way to have a decent render, then on to the next picture, with shots to come soon.

 

Moar halcons

Starting some halcon prints in earnest. Here, we see a early wip of the first of perhaps 4

Burger

Working on a funny burger. Hes nice and toony, thought I would use the cheese as stringy "teeth" but it looked goofy so no teeth for you burger man! Tossed on some quick colors for fun.

Spent some time on another bust, CLothing and Hair to come.

Dad....Busted

Spent a bit of time working on a sculpt / present of my dad. Hes been very supportive of my work and studies so it seemed the right thing to do. Took a little bit to get some parts right but I am pretty happy with how it came out, with 3 being the final.

More WIP

Started blocking in some of the body. He will be fully clothed but i thought it would be good practice to do the base, as well as help with cloth hangy-ness

head scultp practice

This head is the start to a character which I will then retopo in max or maya to help learn those programs as well.
Some commentary of the progress;

I started off of a sphere
steps 1-3 are genaric block ins, step 4 is more work on the chin and "snout" area.
step 6-7 is some angles with perspective turned on.

I like the look with it turned off quite a bit more but we'll see what happens.

Con Finals

 Here is my final selection for the Con. A few of them will be cut into multiples and other than one of the Elizabeths printing a touch dark I am happy with how they all turned out. Looking forward to seeing how they do.

Lulu almost there

Almost finished Lulu, a couple more spots to finish up and I need to select her phrase. Then she will be all set. I will probably finalize the bookmark versions of these four before moving on to more characters or other prints.

Finished up Annie to a point that I am pleased with , next up is setting up these three with book mark versions, and on to coloring Lulu.

Ziggs complete, change in style

I finished Ziggs. Also I decided to try background with only single quotes instead of all the words, as well as using a more prominent color. I think it looks better this way. I shifted Teemo to follow suit. I also tried coming up with a little signature, not sure about it yet but it could do.

Got some more paint onto Ziggs, a few more bits on him and he will be set, I also got the colors more or less blocked in on Lulu, not sure about the book yet.

Got the colors for ziggs blocked in. I hope he doesnt print to dark, little worried after seeing how dark colors came through on Teemo.

I finally have print number one decided on. Other than a few issues with the book he is holding printing very dark I am happy with how this turned out. I have also narrowed the choiced of bookmarks down as well as have finished the lines on Ziggs.

Almost there!

This lil guy is just about done, figuring out a few final pieces on him, and perhaps how im doing a background ( full color, bit of props / whatever) But I am really happy with how its going.

Teemo Progress

Locked into a painting style that I am fairly happy with. Its starting to come together, it seems to work best on little sections so I am a bit worried about the fur areas, we shall see!

Teemo color play

I have the base colors done for teemo, but I am not certain yet how I want to finish them. My initial plan was to do them fairly small and sell them as book marks. But if the detail wont come through on that I may make them slightly larger and sell them as "prints" however they may be too small for that.

Above are some of the colors I have been toying with. Top left is layered textures with light paint , the bottom is just a mess of flat colors for me to sample with more or less now. the top right shows a more detailed paint job which may be the way I go. It takes much longer but could be worth it in the end.

Annie Base Colors

Wrapped up her base colors. BG is not final,i'll get a good color for her bookmark. Pretty pleased with this, on to the next!

Annie Choice!

Got most of the colors in for Annie. Not sure if I wanna go cute lil girl eyes, or flaming demon witch eyes, both are very fitting. Also not sure of the teeth.

I have her outfit based on her old model as well as her new model, using the long sleeves of the old one under the vest of the new one to me looks pretty good. I
now just need to decide if i make the sleeves part of the dress (purple) or part of the under shirt (Light pink)

Annie WIP

Got the lines done and set up for Annie. I had some trouble with the skirt as well as the pose for the legs and hands. I decided to showcase her love for her bear Tibbers, who may be in full on Tibbers Fury in the bottom of the piece. Also while I almost finished last time, I realised I wasnt working off of her updated model and needed to change a few pieces. I am pretty pleased with how the skirt and vest turned out, also I like the pose I put her and Tibbers in together.

Posted are the Final line work as well as The sketch with revisions in separate colors. Tibbers is still full body, but will be layered behind the book.

Teemo Flats / Lines

Fineally got the lines and flat colors in on the lil guy. I found out I made the original document to small for printing, so I had to blow it up and redo the line work. I am pleased where it is at so far and look forward to figuring out if i stay flat colors, or paint it alot.

Annie

Next up is Annie. Im not in love with the pose  of the arms or head, or facial expression for that matter, I do like the way the legs and hair are coming out. Still going to add in her bear Tibbers in plush form, and his face may be the bottom if I go with the bookmark format.

Branching out

I am using the upcoming conventions to give myself deadlines to push for. I Decided to try my hand at some smaller art, perhaps in bookmark form using some characters from LoL- First up is everyone's favorite Yordle. Still super basic but I am pleased with how its going so far. Im not sure what expression to do his mouth ,what to have going down the book mark or what to have the lil bugger reading.

Convention WIP

 Tonight I worked on a new set of chompers and some gums to hold them. I thought the bigger teeth looked alright but now the turtles will have the same amount of teeth as me, which means I am that much closer to being one of them.

Convention Sculpt WIPs

Started to work on some things for a convention. I plan to try my hand at making a few prints of my sculpts. Never tried something like this so hoping for the best.

 Start of my sculpt of Emilia Clarke. Well bust form at least. I plan to have one more realistic and one that is more toony.

Start of the turtles. Some posed as styled busts. This so far is the base for all of them.
